Hazy Past is a Vintage Rock band that performs songs from the hazy past, deep cuts & B-sides...and the hits.
The band features the standard rock setup with drums, bass, guitars, rockin' lead vocals, and keys. Hazy Past creates a sound that covers many genres of music, from rock, funk and blues to classic country. With nearly 100 songs in their repertoire, the set-lists are never the same.
Hazy Past has covered The Rolling Stones "Exile On Main Street" & "Sticky Fingers" in its entirety and has performed a Led Zeppelin tribute, both at 5/3rd Ballpark and Founders Brewing Company. They have also performed an Allman Brothers Band tribute, Aerosmith tribute & David Bowie Tribute show. Besides these tributes, Hazy Past also covers various artist as: Bob Dylan, The Band, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Santana, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, The Faces, Sublime, Talking Heads, R.E.M., The Velvet Underground, and many more.

Devin Weber has been playing guitar since 2004 and has been an active participant in the Grand Rapids music scene since 2011. Drawing influences from bands like (but not limited to) The Beatles, Neil Young, R.E.M., Sublime, David Bowie, and perhaps most obviously Meat Loaf, he has shaped a few projects most notably, Devin and The Dead Frets. Devin sings the majority of the vocals in Hazy Past and jams on guitar.
For over 25 years, Brian Haik spent many waking hours with guitars by his side. He has jammed in numerous bands such as Afro Zuma, Skankadank, and Black Rose & the Disciples of Funk. Besides being a guitarist, Brian is also a singer and songwriter. He can also be seen playing harmonica, mandolin, percussion & keys in Hazy Past. Schooled in Blues and Rock, (with influences such as Duane Allman, Derek Trucks, Jimi Hendrix, and Jimmy Page) Brian blends his inspirations to create a sound uniquely his own.
Mark Svekric took up the bass at 16. He has played bass for The Willeys for 15 years. He plays stand-up and electric fretless bass. He also has played in Arganik, the Bascom McGhee Band, and filled in for the Horsefeather reunion show. Mark has a diverse musical taste; he especially enjoys Neil Young, Frank Zappa and Radiohead.
Tim Maletic has drummed for a number of local bands, covering styles as diverse as folk, jazz, alt country, and afrobeat. Tim has also studied heavily with local jazz gurus Fred Knapp and Randy Marsh. Tim considers his Hazy Past experience as advanced post-doctoral research in the History of Rock and Roll, where he gets immersed in the styles of Bonham, Moon, Baker and friends.
Steve VandenBrink has been playing piano for 30 years. He has studied with professional pianists in Western Michigan as well as piano instructors around the United States via fine arts camps at Blue Lake and Western Michigan University. Steve pursued jazz studies at WMU for a brief period before choosing a different career path entirely. Music is still an important facet in his life that he continues to grow in personally and share with others at cocktail parties, weddings, church services, and with Hazy Past. Primary musical influences are pianists Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau. Steve appreciates several musical genres for listening and prefers vinyl records over most mediums.
